During the broadcast of Dana White’s Contender Series 70 in Las Vegas, UFC President Dana White took a moment to highlight the legacy of UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones. A promotional video aired during the event, celebrating Jones as the "GOAT" (Greatest of All Time) and showcasing his numerous achievements across two weight classes. When asked about the video, White humorously pretended to be unaware of it, saying,

"What? I was in the back. I didn’t even see it air. I didn’t even know that they aired that tonight.”

White's comments didn't stop at the promotional video. He expressed his frustration with the current UFC pound-for-pound rankings, where some media members have ranked lightweight champion Islam Makhachev and light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira above Jones. White emphasized Jones' recent victory over the No. 1 heavyweight in the world, Ciryl Gane, as evidence of his dominance and deserving top spot in the rankings.

The conversation then took an interesting turn as White expressed his enthusiasm for the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) to take over the ranking system.

"You know what is f*cking great about technology? We’re not far away from AI actually doing these rankings, and it’ll be a great f*cking day when AI starts doing this sh*t. I’m really excited about that," White said, highlighting his belief that AI could bring more accuracy and fairness to the process.

Jones, who hasn’t fought since his first-round submission victory over Gane in March 2023 to claim the vacant heavyweight title, is expected to defend his title against former champion Stipe Miocic on November 16 at UFC 309, set to take place at Madison Square Garden in New York.
