Conor McGregor, never one to mince words, erupted on X (formerly Twitter) after Dana White broke the news that McGregor's highly anticipated fight with Michael Chandler at UFC 309 is officially off the table. Fans and media alike were blindsided by the announcement, but it’s McGregor’s reaction that’s stealing the spotlight.

“Chandler saw that takedown getting stuffed and mauled and officially dipped. Little fat pussy,” McGregor tweeted in a fit of rage. Adding fuel to the fire, McGregor revealed, “I’m at the Hard Rock Hotel Florida for the bare knuckle tonight. Got tested earlier today. Give me my f***ing date!”

Clearly, “The Notorious” one is not happy about the sudden turn of events. McGregor hasn’t fought in nearly three years, with his last appearance in the octagon ending in a loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. His broken leg in that fight sidelined him, but the fire has been burning hotter than ever for a return. Now, with the Chandler fight off, McGregor's frustration is palpable, and fans are left wondering what’s next for the Irish superstar.

Conor McGregor's Fight With Chandler Canceled: What's Next?

Chandler and McGregor had been building up their clash, with Chandler even coaching opposite McGregor on The Ultimate Fighter. The rivalry was real, and the fight seemed inevitable. But now, rumors are swirling that Chandler could be stepping in to face Charles Oliveira at UFC 309 instead. This matchup would certainly shake up the UFC lightweight division, especially with Oliveira looking for redemption after his recent loss to Tsarukyan.

McGregor, on the other hand, is in limbo. Without a clear opponent or fight date, the question remains: Who should he fight next?

All Cards on the Table for McGregor

McGregor's outburst on X reflects the pent-up frustration of a fighter who’s ready to return but finds himself stuck in a holding pattern. With Chandler seemingly moving on, the UFC could look at other potential opponents for McGregor’s long-awaited return. The lightweight division is stacked with talent, and several names could make for blockbuster fights. Tony Ferguson, Justin Gaethje, or even a trilogy fight with Nate Diaz (if Diaz returns to the UFC) could all be on the horizon.

The Fight.TV Verdict

While the news of McGregor vs. Chandler being canceled is a blow, it opens the door to endless possibilities. Who should McGregor fight next? Should he take on a top contender to reestablish himself in the division, or is it time for another superfight?

One thing’s for sure: McGregor's return to the octagon will be must-see, no matter who’s standing across from him. Stay tuned to Fight.TV for all the latest updates. We’re here for it!
