Conor Benn Takes on Peter Dobson in Las Vegas Battle

Conor Benn is set to return to the ring in back-to-back American fights at The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. His first match is scheduled for Saturday, February 3, where he will face off against Peter Dobson. The fight will be broadcast live worldwide on DAZN, with Benn headlining in early afternoon in Las Vegas for prime time viewing in the UK.

Benn, with a record of 22 wins and 0 losses, is eager to continue his winning streak after his 17-month hiatus. His last fight in Orlando against Rodolfo Orozco ended in a 10-round points win. Ranked #5 with the WBC, Benn is aiming for big names and World title honors in 2024, starting with his upcoming fight against Dobson, which will be Benn's first headline turn in the States over 12 rounds at Welterweight.

Expressing his excitement about headlining in Vegas, Benn said, "Vegas has been the stage for many legends before me, and I can't wait to step into that arena on February 3rd against the undefeated Welterweight Peter Dobson, who stepped up to accept the challenge when many wouldn’t."

On the other side, Dobson, with a record of 16 wins and 0 losses, sees this fight as his chance to break into the big leagues after two previous clashes fell through. He expressed gratitude to Matchroom for the opportunity and confidently stated, "Conor is coming to the US and going to get his ass whooped. He's not his daddy. He never seen anyone like me. ‘Pistol’ Pete Dobson is about to ruin another Matchroom hype job. This time in the ring."

The co-feature bout will showcase Middleweight contender Austin Williams against Connor Coyle for the WBA International and IBF North American titles. Both fighters are unbeaten and hungry for a shot at the World title, promising an exciting clash in the ring.

Adding to the excitement, British Heavyweight sensation Johnny Fisher will make his U.S. debut, looking to continue his impressive winning streak. With three knockouts from three fights in 2023, Fisher is ready to make his mark in the American boxing scene.

Promoter Eddie Hearn is optimistic about the event, saying,

"This is a big night for Conor where he can send a message to the World champions and elite names that he’s ready to take them on in 2024."

He also highlighted the significance of the event for British fans, as Benn's fight will air at a favorable time in the UK.

The event promises to be a thrilling showcase of talent, with more stars expected to join the card soon.
