Conor Benn Sets Sights on Manny Pacquiao Clash

Conor Benn is setting his sights on a clash with boxing legend Manny Pacquiao, declaring he's ready to face the Filipino icon on his path to a world title.

The British welterweight and Pacquiao recently met in Saudi Arabia, sparking rumors of a potential summer showdown between the two. Benn, who has faced recent controversy over VADA tests, maintains his innocence but is eyeing a significant bout against Pacquiao in the Middle East.

Reflecting on his time in Saudi Arabia, Benn said,

"That’s what I was there for, really. I knew he [Pacquiao] was going to be there. Right now, that’s looking like the one that we’re focusing on."

After his victory over Peter Dobson in Las Vegas, Benn has been vocal about his desire to compete for a world title and has called out top names in the welterweight division. While some have questioned his choice of opponents, including Pacquiao, Benn remains undeterred.

Responding to criticism, Benn stated,

"I say to that, he [Pacquiao] wants to fight me. He’s mentioned my name, his manager [Sean Gibbons], but also it’s not like I haven’t chased the 147s."

Pacquiao, a boxing legend with a record of 62-8-2 (39 KOs), has not fought since his loss to Yordenis Ugas in 2021. Despite his age, Benn sees the opportunity to fight Pacquiao as an honor and is willing to seize the chance to face a boxing legend.
