The UFC Interim Flyweight Champion Brandon Moreno has parted ways with James Krause and got Sayif Saud in his corner ahead of his title fight with Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 283.
Moreno got hitched to James Krause for the interim title fight against Kai Kara-France at UFC 277 last year. Krause led Moreno to a comfortable victory over the Kiwi fighter, earning him another chance to fight for the flyweight title.
But a fresh gambling scandal involving Krause has led Moreno to look for a new training team. Earlier, it was notified that all the fighters who are linked with Krause are prohibited from participating in the UFC cage.
With the emergence of the news, Moreno had to shift his fight camp away from Kansas City where Krause and his gym are located. Fortunately, the Mexican prodigy has found a familiar face with whom he has worked before, Sayif Saud.
The Assassin Baby was sharing his thoughts on Ariel Helwani’s podcast show, The MMA Hour, on how things have been for him in the last couple of weeks.
“What’s hard when everything started…I was in Kansas City when the news came out,” Moreno said. “I had a long conversation with James, he told me the situation, and in that moment, I decided to turn the page quickly and decide what I wanted to do.”
“I decided to work with Sayif Saud, the coach of Fortis MMA. He’s very close with [my manager]…I feel very comfortable with him”.
Sayif Saud is currently coaching fighters such as Damon Jackson and Ryan Spann and with the news coming from the Assassin baby himself, he could find himself in Moreno’s team at UFC 283.
