Legendary boxing promoter Bob Arum believes that the once-dominant heavyweights Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder are past their prime. Both fighters have experienced crushing defeats in recent bouts, leading Arum to suggest that their best days in the ring may be behind them.

Anthony Joshua, also known as AJ, suffered a punishing fifth-round knockout at the hands of Daniel Dubois in a highly anticipated IBF heavyweight title fight. The match, held at Wembley Stadium, attracted nearly 100,000 spectators. Despite the massive turnout, Joshua's performance left many questioning whether he can return to the elite level he once occupied.

Deontay Wilder, nicknamed "The Bronze Bomber," has also faced significant setbacks. In his last outing, Wilder was stopped in the fifth round by Zhilei Zhang, who delivered a stunning TKO finish. Both Joshua and Wilder, once feared for their knockout power, now find themselves on uncertain ground.

In an interview with Fight Hub TV, Arum was candid about his views on the futures of Joshua and Wilder.

“No, you don’t have an off night getting out of you that way,” said Arum. “I just think AJ has been through a lot of wars. I think it’s over for him as well as over for [Deontay] Wilder.”

Arum went on to suggest that the two fighters face each other, stating,

"Maybe they can fight each other, that’d be good."

While it may not have the same allure as their previous matchups, a Joshua vs. Wilder fight could still draw significant interest, especially with both men eager to prove they have something left to offer.

Promoter Eddie Hearn remains hopeful for Joshua’s future, suggesting a potential rematch with Dubois or even a long-awaited clash with Tyson Fury, depending on Fury’s upcoming performance against Oleksandr Usyk. Joshua himself has expressed a desire to keep fighting, releasing a video that shows his commitment to reaching the top once again.
