Bo Nickal is brushing off critics ahead of his UFC 300 appearance. Since joining the UFC in late 2022, the former Penn State wrestler has garnered significant attention, notably with victories over Jamie Pickett and Val Woodburn, both ending in the first round. Despite a hiatus following his win over Woodburn last July, Nickal is now gearing up to face Cody Brundage, who is on a two-fight winning streak, at UFC 300 next month.
However, despite fans' anticipation for his return, there has been some backlash over Nickal's placement on the main card. Addressing these criticisms on his YouTube channel, Nickal expressed his indifference, humorously suggesting he should visit fans' workplaces to boo them in a role reversal. He emphasized that being on the main card feels great and hinted that his placement is likely due to his ability to draw viewers and sell pay-per-views.
"I don’t really care to be honest," Nickal stated on his YouTube channel. "I could fight wherever I like that it makes people mad. I think that’s so funny. ‘You don’t deserve it, blah, blah blah’. I’m like, okay, thank you. I think that all of these people, it’s like that one thing where, I should go to their job."
He continued, "They get a raise, and I’ll be like ‘Boo! Boo! You don’t deserve it! You don’t deserve it you bum you’ve only been working here two years! This guy Jim over here has been working three you freaking scumbag! You deserve a pay cut, you idiot’. At the end of the day the decision was made because I probably sell more. More people want to see me, why wouldn’t they put me there if more people wanted to see me?"
Nickal remains focused on his upcoming fight and is confident in his abilities to deliver an exciting performance at UFC 300.
