Blachowicz Eyes Prochazka Bout for UFC Return

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz is setting his sights on a main event clash against Jiri Prochazka in a Fight Night card scheduled for Europe. Currently gearing up for shoulder surgery, Blachowicz aims to return to action in the summer after completing rehabilitation and a full training camp.

Despite being open to any opponent upon his return, Blachowicz is closely monitoring the developments in the potential bout between Jiri Prochazka and Aleksandar Rakic. Originally slated to face Rakic, Blachowicz's plans shifted due to his impending surgery. Prochazka and Rakic have engaged in a social media exchange, capturing Blachowicz's interest and fueling his hope that the fight materializes.

"Jiri wants to fight as soon as possible, Rakic wants to fight, so they do this fight. It will be a great fight to watch, we will see," expressed Blachowicz.

Expressing his desire to face the winner of the Prochazka-Rakic bout, Blachowicz envisions a colossal showdown in Europe. Identifying venues like Poland's National Stadium, he believes such a matchup could potentially sell out a stadium.

"Yes, I would like to do this fight with him in Europe. Maybe in Poland in the (Polish) National Stadium, it would be something very big and great. I’ve talked about this for a long time, so maybe he will be next for me after this," remarked Blachowicz.

While confident in his ability to exploit Prochazka's weaknesses, Blachowicz acknowledges the challenges posed by Prochazka's unorthodox and unpredictable fighting style.

"He has a weird style, a crazy style but it is working. But, he also has a lot of holes in his game," Blachowicz concluded.

Currently, Jan Blachowicz's primary focus is on undergoing shoulder surgery and working towards a full recovery, aiming to return to the octagon at 100 percent.
