Mike Perry, the reigning “King of Violence,” can put his concerns about his BKFC future to rest. Despite his frustration over a prolonged absence from the ring, BKFC President David Feldman has announced plans for Perry’s return in March 2025.
After defeating Thiago Alves in April and taking on Jake Paul in a boxing match in July, Perry has been eager for another BKFC fight. On his podcast, Perry voiced his displeasure, saying,
“It doesn’t seem to be panning out, that’s what’s happening. I’m just like ... fine, sure, like offer me somebody, tell me what’s going on. Tell me something! I guess Conor [McGregor] really did fire me. What the f*ck, where’s my fight at?’’
While McGregor, who owns a stake in BKFC, jokingly “fired” Perry after his loss to Paul, Feldman reassured fans that Perry remains a key figure in the organization.
“It looks like March for Mike,” Feldman told MMA Fighting. “He’s definitely coming back. We talked about it a little bit at the fight [in Florida]. I know that Mike likes to talk and say, ‘They’re not giving me fights, they’re not doing this,’ but we’ve been talking to his management team. He’s coming back.”
Feldman praised Perry’s natural affinity for bare-knuckle fighting, stating,
“This was made for Mike Perry. Now he has to come back in here and rekindle this flame and show the BKFC fans and all the combat sports fans that he is a true bare-knuckle fighter.”
The list of potential matchups for Perry is extensive. Feldman mentioned in-house BKFC fighters like Dave Mundell and Austin Trout as top contenders, while also leaving the door open for Perry’s desired bout against former UFC champion Robbie Lawler. However, Lawler’s involvement depends on his contractual situation with the UFC.
“There’s a lot of different options out there,” Feldman noted. “One of those fights is going to happen in March, and we’re going to narrow that down here in the next two weeks and then we’ll announce that.”
