Bellator London Shakes Up Main Event: Leah McCourt vs. Sara Collins Takes the Spotlight

Bellator London has undergone a significant shake-up, with a new main event set to take center stage. Originally, the highly anticipated middleweight title bout between Johnny Eblen and Fabian Edwards was slated to headline the event. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, that bout has been canceled, leaving fans eager for the next big fight.

The promotion quickly adjusted, elevating the featherweight clash between Leah McCourt and Sara Collins to the main event. This fight, initially set as the co-main, now carries the weight of headlining the September 14 event at the OVO Arena.

McCourt (8-3) steps into the cage riding high from a victory over Sara McMann last November. McCourt's relentless pursuit of victory was on full display as she dismantled the former UFC title contender with a barrage of punches, securing a first-round stoppage. Now, with a record of 7-2 within the Bellator cage, McCourt is eager to build momentum and establish herself as a top contender.

On the other side of the cage, Sara Collins (5-0) enters as an undefeated force, with a perfect professional record. Collins made her Bellator debut in March 2023, submitting Pam Sorenson in the first round, and followed it up with a hard-fought split decision victory over Sinead Kavanagh. With her sights set on remaining unbeaten, Collins will be looking to spoil McCourt's plans and make her statement as a rising star in the division.

With the cancellation of Eblen vs. Edwards, fans won’t have to wait long for the rescheduled date, as Bellator is expected to announce a new date soon. Meanwhile, Simeon Powell vs. Rafael Xavier has now moved into the co-main event slot, ensuring that the September 14 card remains stacked with exciting matchups.

Adding to the night’s action, Bellator has also announced a new about between Eman Almudhaf and Daiane da Silva, along with Joseph Luciano stepping in to face Steven Hill, replacing Ross Houston. The updated lineup for Bellator Champions Series: London promises a night of thrilling fights, with a card packed from top to bottom.
