In tonight's main event, Bellator fans will see a rematch between heavyweight champion Ryan Bader and his opponent, Cheick Kongo. Their first fight ended in controversy, with Bader's accidental blink of an eye declaring the fight non-competitive.
Bader last won the heavyweight title unification against Valentine Moldovsky in January. As far as Kongo is concerned, it last competed in August 2021 with a victory over Sergei Kharitonov.
In the co-main event, former multi-time UFC title challenger Yoel Romero remained in search of his first win under the Bellator banner. With Melvin Manhoef out due to injury, Alex Polizzi was stepping up on short notice to face "The Soldier of God."
