Artem Vakhitov Eyes UFC Trilogy with Alex Pereira, But It's All Business, No Bad Blood
Artem Vakhitov

Artem Vakhitov’s journey towards a possible third encounter with UFC star Alex Pereira isn’t your typical heated rivalry tale. Unlike most fighters who stoke the flames of animosity to sell a fight, Vakhitov (2-1) isn’t driven by personal vendettas. His rivalry with Pereira (12-2) is built purely on competitive respect.

Fans expecting a trash-talking brawl leading to a showdown between these two kickboxing legends might be surprised. After all, Vakhitov and Pereira are tied at one win apiece from their previous kickboxing encounters in 2021. However, the Russian fighter insists there’s no bad blood.

“We have a story with Alex, and it’s a good opportunity to face him again,” Vakhitov told. “It’s nothing personal with Alex. After our fight in kickboxing, we were messaging together... We have a very friendly relationship. I’m just wishing for him to win as much as he can until he meets me.”

Vakhitov’s respect for Pereira hasn’t dulled his competitive edge, though. Seeing Pereira’s rapid rise in MMA lit a spark in Vakhitov, motivating him to pursue his own UFC dreams. After debuting in MMA in 2023, Vakhitov has shown immense potential, securing two quick TKO victories. Now, he’s on the verge of a UFC contract, with his upcoming fight at Dana White’s Contender Series looming large.

While Vakhitov’s focus is on his next bout, the idea of a UFC trilogy with Pereira remains in his mind. For now, Vakhitov is staying calm under the pressure, focusing on technique rather than just chasing knockouts. He wants to showcase the art of kickboxing within MMA, proving that skill can triumph over brute force.

With championship aspirations, Vakhitov knows there’s a lot to achieve before another face-off with Pereira becomes reality. But one thing is certain—Vakhitov is ready for whatever the future holds.
