Anthony Joshua Dismisses Retirement Rumors After KO Loss to Daniel Dubois
Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois

Anthony Joshua has made it clear—he's not ready to call it quits just yet. Following his knockout loss to fellow Brit Daniel Dubois, Joshua quickly shut down rumors of retirement. The two fighters went head-to-head in a heavyweight championship bout for the IBF title last Saturday at Wembley Stadium, where Dubois managed to secure a knockout victory.

However, Joshua, now 34, remains determined to continue his boxing career. At the post-fight press conference, Joshua addressed his future in the sport:

“You’re probably asking, do I still want to continue fighting?” Joshua said. “Of course I want to continue fighting. We took a shot at success and we came up short. What does that mean now? Are we going to run away? We’re going to live to fight another day. That’s what I am – a warrior.”

Despite the loss—his fourth in his professional career—Joshua held his head high. He expressed pride in his performance in front of the 96,000-strong crowd at Wembley, acknowledging the effort of his opponent, Daniel Dubois, and the preparation of his own team.

Joshua emphasized his ongoing desire to make history in British boxing, despite recent setbacks. His three prior losses came at the hands of heavyweight icons Andy Ruiz Jr. and Oleksandr Usyk, yet Joshua remains optimistic about his future.

“We rolled the dice for the third time. That’s 13 world title fights, and not every one has been successful, but every one has been fine and entertaining. We’re trying to create history for British boxing, and I think we’re doing that,” Joshua reflected, remaining hopeful for his journey ahead.
